Search the podcast directory and listen to audio blogs with a customized flash-based BlogExplosion player that doesn't require plug-ins or additional software. Browse the directory by category or check out the newest podcasts and view their details or listen right away.
When viewing podcast details, you get the feed URL, description, voting buttons, a link to listen to the audio and the opportunity to leave a comment. On its home page, BlogExplosion features a podcast and has a podcast called Podcast411 that introduces the beginner to podcasting.

IdiotVox ***DEAD
IdiotVox is a podcast directory with over 3000 feeds and full-text search index. It also offers unbiased user reviews (in contrast to the "vote" system) in a podcast review podcast (no typo here) called VoxMonitor where visitors are encouraged to agree or disagree with the reviews by leaving comments. Rankings are based on popularity, quality and editor's picks.

Podcast Shuffle is a free podcast directory built and maintained to support the podcast community. Browse or search the directory of Podcasts or use the Shuffle page that serves one to three random podcasts every ten seconds. The directory has many categories with over 1870 feeds. The What's New page lists the latest 25 podcasts added to the directory.
The home page is the site blog with updated news about the site, podcasting in general and other information. On this same page is the list of the top 10 podcasts and Podcast Shuffle picks. The site also has podcast news and Podcast One, the repodcast of the Presidential weekly radio address.

Odeo ***DEAD
Odeo consists of three major parts: A catalog of all types of audio content, which is constantly updated; the Odeo Syncr, which lets you download anything from the catalog (and, optionally, put it on your MP3 player); and creation tools that include the Odeo Studio so you can publish your own audio content, which appears in the catalog (The creation tools aren't available yet.).
Odeo has a directory of podcasts with a description of the channel description and its metadata. The site is folksonomy-enabled and it uses tags to classify content. In the future, it will offer web services api for parts of the site including the flash podcast player, the studio, syncr client and for integration with the phone system.

PodCatch is a directory and a community that has a mailing list and discussion group for talking all things podcasting. Unfortunately, the discussions (actually comments on postings) have a lot of spam. The right column lists about ten of the freshest podcasts or you can click on Fresh Podcasts to see a longer list of recently updated podcasts and you can grab the show's feed from there.***DEAD
